We also spill (some) non-generic arguments and initialization code
out of coqargs and to coqtop, namely colors for the terminal. There are
more of these, left to later commits.

This component holds the code for initializing Coq:
- parsing arguments not specific to the toplevel
- initializing all components from vernac downwards (no stm)
This commit moves stm specific arguments parsing to stm/stmargs.ml

Add headers to a few files which were missing them.

Incidentally fix some missing newline in coqc help, and give proper
help for coqidetop and the "coq*worker"s.
|

- Binding coqc execution to the generic support for Coq binaries
(i.e. to start_coq).
- Moving init_toploop to the init part of coq executables so that coqc
can avoid to call it. By the way, it is unclear what workerloop
should do with it. Also, it is unclear how much the -l option should
be considered an coqidetop or coq*worker option. In any case, it
should be disallowed in coqc, I guess?
- Moving the custom init part at the end of the initialization
phase. Seems ok, despites the few involved side effects.

Incidentally moving parsing of "-batch" to the coqtop binary.

In particular, method init does not do parsing any more.
This allows for instance to let coqidetop treats itself the
"-filteropts" option.
|

A few semantic changes:
- several queries (-where, -config, ...) are accepted
- queries are exclusive of other arguments
- option -filterops is exclusive of other arguments if it contains
another query (this allows to get rid of the "exitcode" hack)

We make `coqc` a truly standalone binary, whereas `coqtop` is
restricted to interactive use.
Thus, `coqtop -compile` will emit a warning and call `coqc`.
We have also refactored `Coqargs` into a common `Coqargs` module and a
compilation-specific module `Coqcargs`.
This solves problems related to `coqc` having its own argument
parsing, and reduces the number of strange argument combinations a
lot.

In some cases, toplevel ML clients may want to modify the default set
of flags that is passed to the main initalization routine. This is for
example useful for `idetop` to suppress some undesired printing at
startup.
I would say that clients ought to have more control, but I do expect
that PRs such as #8690 will help providing a better separation thus a
mode orthogonal API.

We turn coqtop "plugins" into standalone executables, which will be
installed in `COQBIN` and located using the standard `PATH`
mechanism. Using dynamic linking for `coqtop` customization didn't
make a lot of sense, given that only one of such "plugins" could be
loaded at a time. This cleans up some code and solves two problems:
- `coqtop` needing to locate plugins,
- dependency issues as plugins in `stm` depended on files in `toplevel`.
In order to implement this, we do some minor cleanup of the toplevel
API, making it functional, and implement uniform build rules. In
particular:
- `stm` and `toplevel` have become library-only directories,
- a new directory, `topbin`, contains the new executables,
- 4 new binaries have been introduced, for coqide and the stm.
- we provide a common and cleaned up way to locate toplevels.

Toplevels may want to modify for example the Stm flags,
which after #1108 are handled in a functional way.
|

|
`Drop` is implemented using exceptions-as-control flow, so the
toplevel state gets corrupted as `do_vernac` will never return when
`Drop` occurs in the input.
The right fix would be to remove `Drop` from the vernacular and make
it a toplevel-only command, but meanwhile we can just patch the state
in the exception handler.
We also need to keep the global state in `Coqloop` as the main
`coqtop` entry point won't be called by `go ()`.
Fixes #6872.

We organize the toplevel execution as a record and pass it
around. This will be used by future PRs as to for example decouple
goal printing from the classifier.
|
|
We mostly separate command line argument parsing from interpretation,
some (minor) imperative actions are still done at argument parsing
time. This tidies up the code quite a bit and allows to better follow
the complicated command line handling code.
To this effect, we group the key actions to be performed by the
toplevel into a new record type. There is still room to improve.

After `Drop`, `Coqtop.drop_last_doc` will contain the current document
used by `Coqloop`. This is useful for people wanting to restart Coq
after a `Drop`.
|

We move delicate library/module instillation code to the STM so the
API guarantees that the first state snapshot is correct. That was not
the case in the past, which meant that the STM cache was unsound in
batch mode, however we never used its contents due to not backtracking
to the first state.
This provides quite an improvement in the API, however more work is
needed until the codepath is fully polished.
This is a critical step towards handling the STM functionally.

We make the Stm API functional over an opaque `doc` type. This allows
to have a much better picture of what the toplevel is doing; now
almost all users of STM private data are marked by typing.
For now only, the API is functional; a PR switching the internals
should come soon thou; however we must first fix some initialization
bugs.
Due to some users, we modify `feedback` internally to include a
"document id" field; we don't expose this change in the IDE protocol
yet.

We move toplevel/STM flags from `Flags` to their proper components;
this ensures that low-level code doesn't depend on them, which was
incorrect and source of many problems wrt the interfaces.
Lower-level components should not be aware whether they are running in
batch or interactive mode, but instead provide a functional interface.
In particular:

Allow delayed constants in the kernel.
- `Flags.record_aux_file`
Output `Proof using` information from the kernel.
- `System.trust_file_cache`
Assume that the file system won't change during our run.

Additionally, we modify the STM entry point and `coqtop` to account
for the needed state. Note that testing may be necessary and the
number of combinations possible exceeds what the test-suite / regular
use does.
The next step is to fix the initialization problems [c.f. Bugzilla],
which will require a larger rework of the STM interface.

User interface writers can drop a footop.cmxs in $(COQLIB)/toploop/
and pass -toploop footop to customize the coq main loop.
A toploop must set Coqtop.toploop_init and Coqtop.toploop_run to
functions respectively initializing the toploop (and parsing toploop
specific arguments) and running the main loop itself.
For backward compatibility -ideslave and -async-proofs worker do
set the toploop to coqidetop and stmworkertop respectively.

* vars.mli was mentionning Term instead of Constr, leading to a dep cycle
* Having a file named toplevel/toplevel.ml isn't a good idea when we also
have a toplevel/toplevel.mllib that ought to produce a toplevel.cma.
We rename toplevel.ml into Coqloop.ml
* Extra cleanup of toplevel.mllib :
- Ppextra isn't anywhere around (?!)
- Ppvernac was mentionned twice, and rather belongs to printing.mllib anyway
- Vernacexpr is a .mli and shouldn't appear in an .mllib
* During the link, printing.cma now comes after parsing.cma (Ppvernac uses Egramml)
* A few extra -threads in ocamlbuild files (btw, it's a bit sad to need -thread
for coqchk).

Introduces some hacks to have a consistent user experience. When coqtop
prints info on self then exit, return code is 2 if called with
-filteropts, 0 else
For now, no options are accepted by coqide. there is no way for now to
specify a filename that begins with a dash.

- Many of them were broken, some of them after Pierre B's rework
of mli for ocamldoc, but not only (many bad annotation, many files
with no svn property about Id, etc)
- Useless for those of us that work with git-svn (and a fortiori
in a forthcoming git-only setting)
- Even in svn, they seem to be of little interest

dev/ocamlweb-doc has been erased. I hope no one still use the
"new-parse" it generate.
In dev/,
make html will generate in dev/html/ "clickable version of mlis". (as
the caml standard library)
make coq.pdf will generate nearly the same awfull stuff that coq.ps was.
make {kernel,lib,parsing,..}.{dot,png} will do the dependancy graph of
the given directory.
