2020-12-09Fixing support for argument scopes and let-ins while interning cases patterns.Hugo Herbelin
We also simplify the whole process of interpretation of cases pattern on the way.
2020-10-05Wish #12762: warning on duplicated catch-all pattern with unused named variable.Hugo Herbelin
An identifier starting with _ deactivates the warning. Co-authored-by: Jim Fehrle <jim.fehrle@gmail.com>
2019-12-03Fixes #11231 (missing dependency in pattern-matching decompilation).Hugo Herbelin
The missing dependency impacted the algorithm for detecting default clauses.
2019-08-26Make kernel parametric on the lowest universe and fix #9294Matthieu Sozeau
This could be Prop (for compat with usual Coq), Set (for HoTT), or actually an arbitrary "i". Take lower bound of universes into account in pretyping/engine Reinstate proper elaboration of SProp <= l constraints: replacing is_small with equality with lbound is _not_ semantics preserving! lbound = Set Elaborate template polymorphic inductives with lower bound Prop This will make more constraints explicit Check univ constraints with Prop as lower bound for template inductives Restrict template polymorphic universes to those not bounded from below Fixes #9294 fix suggested by Matthieu Try second fix suggested by Matthieu Take care of modifying elaboration for record declarations as well. Rebase and export functions for debug Remove exported functions used while debugging Add a new typing flag "check_template" and option "-no-template-checl" This parameterizes the new criterion on template polymorphic inductives to allow bypassing it (necessary for backward compatibility). Update checker to the new typing flags structure Switch on the new template_check flag to allow old unsafe behavior in indTyping. This is the only change of code really impacting the kernel, together with the commit implementing unbounded from below and parameterization by the lower bound on universes. Add deprecated option `Unset Template Check` allowing to make proof scripts work with both 8.9 and 8.10 for a while Fix `Template Check` option name and test it Add `Unset Template Check` to Coq89.v Cooking of inductives and template-check tests Cleanup test-suite file for template check / universes(template) flags cookind tests Move test of `Unset Template Check` to the failure/ dir, but comment it for now Template test-suite test explanation Overlays for PR 9918 Overlay for paramcoq Add overlay for fiat_parsers (-no-template-check) Add overlay for fiat_crypto_legacy Update fiat-crypto legacy overlay Now it points at the version that I plan on merging; I am hoping that doing this will guard against mistakes by adding an extra check that the target tested by Coq's CI on this branch works with the change I made. Remove overlay that should no longer be necessary The setting in the compat file should handle it Remove now-merged fiat-crypto-legacy overlay Update `Print Assumptions` to reflect the typing flag for template checking Fix About and Print Assumptions for template poly, giving info on which variables are actually polymorphic Fix pretty printing to print global universe levels properly Fix printing of template polymorphic universes Fix pretty printing for template polymorphism on no universe Fix interaction of template check and universes(template) flag Fix indTyping to really check if there is any point in polymorphism: the conclusion sort should be parameterized over at least one local universe Indtyping fixes for template polymorphic Props Allow explicit template polymorphism again Adapt to new indTyping interface Handle the case of template-polymorphic on no universes correctly (morally Type0m univ represented as Prop). Fix check of meaningfullness of template polymorphism in the kernel. It is now done w.r.t the min_univ, the minimal universe inferred for the inductive/record type, independently of the user-written annotation which must only be larger than min_univ. This preserves compatibility with UniMath and template-polymorphism as it has been implemented up-to now. Comment on identity non-template-polymorphism Remove incorrect universes(template) attributes from ssr simpl_fun can be meaningfully template-poly, as well as pred_key (although the use is debatable: it could just as well be in Prop). Move `fun_of_simpl` coercion declaration out of section to respect uniform inheritance Remove incorrect uses of #[universes(template)] from the stdlib Extraction of micromega changes due to moving an ind decl out of a section Remove incorrect uses of #[universes(template)] from plugins Fix test-suite files, removing incorrect #[universes(template)] attributes Remove incorrect #[universes(template)] attributes in test-suite Fix test-suite Remove overlays as they have been merged upstream.

2018-07-25In "redundant clause" pattern-matching error, show also the pattern (#7777).Hugo Herbelin
This is particularly useful when the pattern is part of a disjunction. Maybe this could be improved though, not mentioning the pattern when there is no disjunction, but that would be more work.

2017-12-12In printing, factorizing "match" clauses with same right-hand side.Hugo Herbelin
Moreover, when there are at least two clauses and the last most factorizable one is a disjunction with no variables, turn it into a catch-all clause. Adding options Unset Printing Allow Default Clause. to deactivate the second behavior, and Unset Printing Factorizable Match Patterns. to deactivate the first behavior (deactivating the first one deactivates also the second one). E.g. printing match x with Eq => 1 | _ => 0 end gives match x with | Eq => 1 | _ => 0 end or (with default clause deactivates): match x with | Eq => 1 | Lt | Gt => 0 end More to be done, e.g. reconstructing multiple patterns in Nat.eqb...
2017-06-09A fix to #5414 (ident bound by ltac names now known for "match").Hugo Herbelin
Also taking into account a name in the return clause and in the indices. Note the double meaning ``bound as a term to match'' and ``binding in the "as" clause'' when the term to match is a variable for all of "match", "if" and "let".
2017-04-07Better support for printing constructors with let-ins.Hugo Herbelin
This allows e.g. to use the record notations even when there are defined fields. A priori fixed also missing parameters when interpreting primitive tokens.
2016-10-19Test for variant of #5142 (good error message on pattern-matching failure).Hugo Herbelin
2016-10-19Attempt to improve error rendering in pattern-matching compilation (#5142).Hugo Herbelin
When trying different possible return predicates, returns the error given by the first try, assuming this is the most interesting one.

2015-11-10Updating test-suite after Bracketing Last Introduction Pattern set byHugo Herbelin
default. Interestingly, there is an example where it makes the rest of the proof less natural. Goal forall x y:Z, ... intros [y|p1[|p2|p2]|p1[|p2|p2]]. where case analysis on y is not only in the 2nd and 3rd case, is not anymore easy to do. Still, I find the bracketing of intro-patterns a natural property, and its generalization in all situations a natural expectation for uniformity. So, what to do? The following is e.g. not as compact and "one-shot": intros [|p1|p1]; [intros y|intros [|p2|p2] ..].
2014-10-23Fixing clash in output test-suite Cases.Hugo Herbelin
2014-10-20A patch for printing "match" when constructors are defined with let-inHugo Herbelin
but the internal representation dropped let-in. Ideally, the internal representation of the "match" should use contexts for the predicate and the branches. This would however be a rather significant change. In the meantime, just a hack. To do, there is still an extra @ in the constructor name that does not need to be there.
2014-04-28Fixing #3293 (eta-expansion at "match" printing time was failingHugo Herbelin
because of let-in's interpreted as being part of the expansion).
2012-01-16Parameters in pattern first step.pboutill
In interp/constrintern.ml, '_' for constructor parameter are required if you use AppExpl ('@Constr') and added in order to be erased at the last time if you do not use '@'. It makes the use of notation in pattern more permissive. For example, -8<------ Inductive I (A: Type) : Type := C : A -> I A. Notation "x <: T" := (C T x) (at level 38). Definition uncast A (x : I A) := match x with | x <: _ => x end. -8<------ was forbidden. Backward compatibility is strictly preserved expect for syntactic definitions: While defining "Notation SOME = @Some", SOME had a special treatment and used to be an alias of Some in pattern. It is now uniformly an alias of @Some ('_' must be provided for parameters). In interp/constrextern.ml, except if all the parameters are implicit and all the arguments explicit (This covers all the cases of the test-suite), pattern are generated with AppExpl (id est '@') (so with '_' for parameters) in order to become compatible in any case with future behavior. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@14909 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7

2007-09-21- Fixing bug 1703 ("intros until n" falls back on the variable name whenherbelin
the latter is bound to a var which is not a quantified one - this led to remove a line marked "temporary compatibility" ... ; made a distinction between quantified hypothesis as for "intros until" and binding names as in "apply with"; in both cases, we now expect that a identifier not used as a variable, as in "apply f_equal with f:=g" where "f" is a true binder name in f_equal, must not be used as a variable elsewhere [see corresponding change in Ints/Tactic.v]) - Fixing bug 1643 (bug in the algorithm used to possibly reuse a global name in the recursive calls of a coinductive term) - Fixing bug 1699 (bug in contracting nested patterns at printing time when the return clause of the subpatterns is dependent) - Fixing bug 1697 (bug in the TacAssert clause of Tacinterp.subst_tactic) - Fixing bug 1678 (bug in converting constr_pattern to constr in Constrextern) git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@10131 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7
