2020-06-30[states] Move States to vernacEmilio Jesus Gallego Arias
We continue to push state layers upwards, in preparation of a functional vernacular interpretation. Now we move `States` and `Printmod` which messes with the global state as to temporarily create envs with modules.

2019-08-30[library] Move library to vernacEmilio Jesus Gallego Arias
This is step 1 on removing library state from the lower layers. Here we move library loading to the vernacular layer; few things depend on it: - printers: we add a parameter for those needing to access on-disk data, - coqlib: indeed a few tactics do try to check that a particular library is loaded; this is a tricky part. I've replaced that for a module name check, but indeed this is fully equivalent due to side-effects of `Require`. We may want to think what to do here. A few other minor code movements were needed, but there are self-explanatory.

2017-10-17[stm] Remove state-handling from Futures.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
We make Vernacentries.interp functional wrt state, and thus remove state-handling from `Future`. Now, a future needs a closure if it wants to preserve state. Consequently, `Vernacentries.interp` takes a state, and returns the new one. We don't explicitly thread the state in the STM yet, instead, we recover the state that was used before and pass it explicitly to `interp`. I have tested the commit with the files in interactive, but we aware that some new bugs may appear or old ones be made more apparent. However, I am confident that this step will improve our understanding of bugs. In some cases, we perform a bit more summary wrapping/unwrapping. This will go away in future commits; informal timings for a full make: - master: real 2m11,027s user 8m30,904s sys 1m0,000s - no_futures: real 2m8,474s user 8m34,380s sys 0m59,156s

Workers send back incomplete system states (only the proof part). Such part must include the meta/evar counter.

2013-08-30recdef: restore old semantics (pre STM)gareuselesinge
The Stm commit switched from an home made handling of failures to a with_state_protection. This was wrong, since in case of success the global state has to be left altered. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@16746 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7

2013-08-08State Transaction Machinegareuselesinge
The process_transaction function adds a new edge to the Dag without executing the transaction (when possible). The observe id function runs the transactions necessary to reach to the state id. Transaction being on a merged branch are not executed but stored into a future. The finish function calls observe on the tip of the current branch. Imperative modifications to the environment made by some tactics are now explicitly declared by the tactic and modeled as let-in/beta-redexes at the root of the proof term. An example is the abstract tactic. This is the work described in the Coq Workshop 2012 paper. Coq is compile with thread support from now on. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@16674 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7
2013-05-06States: frozen states can hold closuresgareuselesinge
States.freeze takes ~marshallable:bool, so that (only) when we want to marshal data to disk/network we can ask the freeze functions of the summary to force lazy values. The flag is propagated to Lib and Summary. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@16478 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7

2010-04-29Remove the svn-specific $Id$ annotationsletouzey
- Many of them were broken, some of them after Pierre B's rework of mli for ocamldoc, but not only (many bad annotation, many files with no svn property about Id, etc) - Useless for those of us that work with git-svn (and a fortiori in a forthcoming git-only setting) - Even in svn, they seem to be of little interest git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@12972 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7
2010-04-29Move from ocamlweb to ocamdoc to generate mli documentationpboutill
dev/ocamlweb-doc has been erased. I hope no one still use the "new-parse" it generate. In dev/, make html will generate in dev/html/ "clickable version of mlis". (as the caml standard library) make coq.pdf will generate nearly the same awfull stuff that coq.ps was. make {kernel,lib,parsing,..}.{dot,png} will do the dependancy graph of the given directory. ocamldoc comment syntax is here : http://caml.inria.fr/pub/docs/manual-ocaml/manual029.html The possibility to put graphs in pdf/html seems to be lost. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@12969 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7
