2020-11-13[record] [ci] Overlay for elpiEmilio Jesus Gallego Arias
We re-expose `declare_projections` and `declare_structure_entry` as it is needed by coq-elpi. Ideally we would provide a better way in recordops to interact with this, in fact `declare_structure_entry` is just a wrapper around recordops + libobject structure so there is hope it goes away entirely in the future. The need for Elpi to manually call `declare_projections` should actually disappear in future refactorings.

2020-11-13[record] Cleanup of data structure and functions [2/2]Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
In preparation for reworking the record declaration path to use the common infrastructure, we perform some refactoring. The current choices are far from definitive, as we will consolidate the data types more as we move along with the work here.

2020-10-16Fixes/enhancements with local definitions in records.Hugo Herbelin
Fixes implicit arguments from the body of a defined field not taken into account. Get (a bit) more information for detection of SProp relevance in implicitly-typed defined field. (It should be done at the very end of the inference phase, though, because some evars may not yet be instantiated.)

2020-09-30Remove the forward class hint feature.Pierre-Marie Pédrot
It was not documented, not properly tested and thus likely buggy. Judging from the code alone I spotted already one potential bug. Further more it was prominently making use of the infamous "arbitrary term as hint" feature. Since the only user in our CI seems to be a math-classes file that introduced the feature under a claim of "cleanup", I believe we can safely remove it without anyone noticing.

2020-07-09Recordops: unify struc_typ summary record and libobject entry struc_tupleGaëtan Gilbert
This requires updating the parameter count at section end, I felt it was easier to do with rebuild_function but it could be done in discharge if needed. Incidentally fixes #12649.

2020-07-01[state] Consolidate state handling in VernacstateEmilio Jesus Gallego Arias
After #12504 , we can encapsulate and consolidate low-level state logic in `Vernacstate`, removing `States` which is now a stub. There is hope to clean up some stuff regarding the handling of low-level proof state, by moving both `Evarutil.meta_counter` and `Evd.evar_counter_summary` into the proof state itself [obligations state is taken care in #11836] , but this will take some time.

2020-05-15[misc] Better preserve backtraces in several modulesEmilio Jesus Gallego Arias
Re-raising inside exception handlers must be done with care in order to preserve backtraces; even if newer OCaml versions do a better job in automatically spilling `%reraise` in places that matter, there is no guarantee for that to happen. I've done a best-effort pass of places that were re-raising incorrectly, hopefully I got the logic right. There is the special case of `Nametab.error_global_not_found` which is raised many times in response to a `Not_found` error; IMHO this error should be converted to something more specific, however the scope of that change would be huge as to do easily...
2020-05-13Make explicit that UGraph lower bounds are only of two kinds.Pierre-Marie Pédrot
This makes the invariants in the code clearer, and also highlight this is only required to implement template polymorphic inductive types.

2020-04-13Simplifying the declaration of constants bound to primitive projections.Hugo Herbelin
We factorize code from declareInd.ml and inductiveops.ml which was already existing in record.ml. We keep expansion of local definitions in the type of fields of primitive records while these are not expanded in the non-primitive case. This is to be consistent with what Indtypes.compute_projections is doing. See discussion at #11135. We keep the unused code from inductiveops.ml for possible future use though. Include improvements contributed by Gaëtan Gilbert.

2020-03-18Hack a non-superglobal mode for hints.Pierre-Marie Pédrot
The current implementation was seemingly never thought for this kind of semantics. Everything is superglobal by construction, notably hint database creation and naming schemes. The new mode feels a bit hackish to me, at some point this should be fully reimplemented from scratch with a clear design in mind.
2020-03-08Template polymorphism is now a property of the inductive block.Pierre-Marie Pédrot
For an inductive block to be template, all its components must also be. This is probably fixing a few soundness bugs in the process, but I do not want to think too much about it.

2019-11-26Fix #11039: proof of False with template poly and nonlinear universesGaëtan Gilbert
Using the parameter universes in the constructor causes implicit equality constraints, so those universes may not be template polymorphic. A couple types in the stdlib were erroneously marked template, which is now detected. Removing the marking doesn't actually change behaviour though. Also fixes #10504.

2019-08-27[declare] Move proof_entry type to declare, put interactive proof data on ↵Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
top of declare. This PR is a follow up to #10406 , moving the then introduced `proof_entry` type to `Declare`. This makes sense as `Declare` is the main consumer of the entry type, and already provides the constructors for it. This is a step towards making the entry type private, which will allow us to enforce / handle invariants on entry data better. A side-effect of this PR is that now `Proof_global` does depend on `Declare`, not the other way around, but that makes sense given that closing an interactive proof will be a client of declare. Indeed, all `Declare` / `Pfedit` / and `Proof_global` are tied into tactics due to `abstract`, at some point we may be able to unify all them into a single file in `vernac`.
2019-08-26Make kernel parametric on the lowest universe and fix #9294Matthieu Sozeau
This could be Prop (for compat with usual Coq), Set (for HoTT), or actually an arbitrary "i". Take lower bound of universes into account in pretyping/engine Reinstate proper elaboration of SProp <= l constraints: replacing is_small with equality with lbound is _not_ semantics preserving! lbound = Set Elaborate template polymorphic inductives with lower bound Prop This will make more constraints explicit Check univ constraints with Prop as lower bound for template inductives Restrict template polymorphic universes to those not bounded from below Fixes #9294 fix suggested by Matthieu Try second fix suggested by Matthieu Take care of modifying elaboration for record declarations as well. Rebase and export functions for debug Remove exported functions used while debugging Add a new typing flag "check_template" and option "-no-template-checl" This parameterizes the new criterion on template polymorphic inductives to allow bypassing it (necessary for backward compatibility). Update checker to the new typing flags structure Switch on the new template_check flag to allow old unsafe behavior in indTyping. This is the only change of code really impacting the kernel, together with the commit implementing unbounded from below and parameterization by the lower bound on universes. 2019-07-08[api] Deprecate GlobRef constructors.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
Not pretty, but it had to be done some day, as `Globnames` seems to be on the way out. I have taken the opportunity to reduce the number of `open` in the codebase. The qualified style would indeed allow us to use a bit nicer names `GlobRef.Inductive` instead of `IndRef`, etc... once we have the tooling to do large-scale refactoring that could be tried.
