This is actually dead code, we never observe it.
2019-05-10Make the check flag of conversion functions mandatory.Pierre-Marie Pédrot
The current situation is a mess, some functions set it by default, but other no. Making it mandatory ensures that the expected value is the correct one.

2019-03-14Add relevance marks on binders.Gaëtan Gilbert
Kernel should be mostly correct, higher levels do random stuff at times.
2019-02-08Change interfaces of evarconv as suggested by Enrico.Matthieu Sozeau
Now the main functions are unify (solves the problems entirely) and unify_delay and unify_leq (which might leave some unsolved constraints). Deprecated the_conv_x and the_conv_x_leq (which were misnommers as they do unification not conversion).
2019-02-08locus: Add an AtLeastOneOccurrence constructor.Matthieu Sozeau
The semantics is obviously that it is an error if not at least one occurrence is found (natural semantics for rewriting for example).
2018-12-09[doc] Enable Warning 50 [incorrect doc comment] and fix comments.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
This is a pre-requisite to use automated formatting tools such as `ocamlformat`, also, there were quite a few places where the comments had basically no effect, thus it was confusing for the developer. p.s: Reading some comments was a lot of fun :)

2018-11-21[legacy proof engine] Remove some cruft.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
We remove the `Proof_types` file which was a trivial stub, we also cleanup a few layers of aliases. This is not a lot but every little step helps.

2018-10-10[coqlib] Rebindable Coqlib namespace.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
We refactor the `Coqlib` API to locate objects over a namespace `module.object.property`. This introduces the vernacular command `Register g as n` to expose the Coq constant `g` under the name `n` (through the `register_ref` function). The constant can then be dynamically located using the `lib_ref` function. 2018-10-05[kernel] Remove section paths from `KerName.t`Maxime Dénès
We remove sections paths from kernel names. This is a cleanup as most of the times this information was unused. This implies a change in the Kernel API and small user visible changes with regards to tactic qualification. In particular, the removal of "global discharge" implies a large cleanup of code. Additionally, the change implies that some machinery in `library` and `safe_typing` must now take an `~in_section` parameter, as to provide the information whether a section is open or not.
2018-09-24[engine] Remove and deprecate `nf_enter` et al.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
After the introduction of `EConstr`, "normalization" has become unnecessary, we thus deprecate the `nf_*` family of functions. Test-suite and CI pass after the fix for #8513.

2018-06-04Merge PR #7216: Replace uses of Termops.dependent by more specific functions.Matthieu Sozeau
2018-05-30[api] Remove deprecated object from `Term`Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
We remove most of what was deprecated in `Term`. Now, `intf` and `kernel` are almost deprecation-free, tho I am not very convinced about the whole `Term -> Constr` renaming but I'm afraid there is no way back. Inconsistencies with the constructor policy (see #6440) remain along the code-base and I'm afraid I don't see a plan to reconcile them. The `Sorts` deprecation is hard to finalize, opening `Sorts` is not a good idea as someone added a `List` module inside it.

2018-04-13Evar maps contain econstrs.Gaëtan Gilbert
We bootstrap the circular evar_map <-> econstr dependency by moving the internal EConstr.API module to Evd.MiniEConstr. Then we make the Evd functions use econstr.
2018-04-10Deprecate the "simple subst" tactic.Pierre-Marie Pédrot
This tactic was introduced by aba4b19 in 2009 and never documented. Its main purpose was backward compatibility, and as such it ought to be deprecated.
2018-04-10Replace uses of Termops.dependent by more specific functions.Pierre-Marie Pédrot
This is more efficient in general, because Termops.dependent doesn't take advantage of the knowledge of its pattern argument.

2018-02-22[ast] Improve precision of Ast location recognition in serialization.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
We follow the suggestions in #402 and turn uses of `Loc.located` in `vernac` into `CAst.t`. The impact should be low as this change mostly affects top-level vernaculars. With this change, we are even closer to automatically map a text document to its AST in a programmatic way.
2018-02-12[engine] Remove ghost parameter from `Proofview.Goal.t`Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
In current code, `Proofview.Goal.t` uses a phantom type to indicate whether the goal was properly substituted wrt current `evar_map` or not. After the introduction of `EConstr`, this distinction should have become unnecessary, thus we remove the phantom parameter from `'a Proofview.Goal.t`. This may introduce some minor incompatibilities at the typing level. Code-wise, things should remain the same. We thus deprecate `assume`. In a next commit, we will remove normalization as much as possible from the code.
2018-02-02Reductionops.nf_* now take an environment.Gaëtan Gilbert
2017-12-11[proof] Embed evar_map in RefinerError exception.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
The exception needs to carry aroud a pair of `env, sigma` so printing is correct. This gets rid of a few global calls, and it is IMO the right thing to do. While we are at it, we incorporate some fixes to a couple of additional printing functions missing the `env, sigma` pair.
2017-11-28In injection/inversion, consider all template-polymorphic types as injectable.Hugo Herbelin
In particular singleton inductive types are considered injectable, even in the absence of the option "Set Keep Proof Equalities". This fixes #3125 (and #4560, #6273).
