2020-05-07Deprecate the legacy tacticals from module Refiner.Pierre-Marie Pédrot
2020-05-05Fix GeoCoq slowdown.Pierre-Marie Pédrot
There is no point in normalizing the goal in the legacy refiner because the function is actually insensitive to evars.
2020-05-03Remove a very specific low-level tactical from Refiner.Pierre-Marie Pédrot
It was only used at one point in the STM, and its localization was suprising to say the least. Furthermore it was relying on legacy code. Instead we hardcode it in the STM.
2020-05-03Wrap Refiner.refiner in the tactic monad.Pierre-Marie Pédrot
This function was used almost everywhere with the wrapper around.
2020-05-03Remove a critical call to V82.tactic in Clenvtac.Pierre-Marie Pédrot
Despite being marked as a breaking change by myself, it seems that the underlying condition had been solved in the meantime.

If we remove all the legacy proof engine stuff, that would remove the need for the view on proof almost entirely.

It seems to belong there, not in `tactics`
2020-04-06Clean and fix definitions of options.Théo Zimmermann
- Provide new helper functions in `Goptions` on the model of `declare_bool_option_and_ref`; - Use these helper functions in many parts of the code base (encapsulates the corresponding references); - Move almost all options from `declare_string_option` to `declare_stringopt_option` (only "Warnings" continue to use the former). This means that these options now support `Unset` to get back to the default setting. Note that there is a naming misalignment since `declare_int_option` is similar to `declare_stringopt_option` and supports `Unset`. When "Warning" is eventually migrated to support `Unset` as well, we can remove `declare_string_option` and rename `declare_stringopt_option` to `declare_string_option`. - For some vernac options and flags that have an equivalent command-line option or flag, implement it like the standard `-set` and `-unset`.
2020-04-06Use lists instead of arrays in evar instances.Pierre-Marie Pédrot
This corresponds more naturally to the use we make of them, as we don't need fast indexation but we instead keep pushing terms on top of them.

2020-03-13Removing catchable_exception test in tclOR/tclORELSE.Hugo Herbelin

2020-03-03[exninfo] Deprecate aliases for exception re-raising.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
We make the primitives for backtrace-enriched exceptions canonical in the `Exninfo` module, deprecating all other aliases. At some point dependencies between `CErrors` and `Exninfo` were a bit complex, after recent clean-ups the roles seem much clearer so we can have a single place for `iraise` and `capture`.
2020-02-24[exn] Forbid raising in exn printers, make them return Pp.t optionEmilio Jesus Gallego Arias
Raising inside exception printers is quite tricky as the order of registration for printers will indeed depend on the linking order. We thus forbid this, and make our API closer to the upstream `Printexn` by having printers return an option type.

2020-01-06Fix #11140: Bidirectionality hints perform (surprising?) simplificationMaxime Dénès
We typecheck arguments like previously, using bidirectionality hints, but ultimately replace them with user-provided arguments on which we replay coercion traces. This is a fix which should be easy to backport, but there are two directions of future work: - Coercion traces for `Program` coercions (in these cases, we currently use the inferred arguments) - Separate the Coercion API in two phases: inference and application of coercions. It will make the approach taken here cleaner, and probably make it easier to interleave typing steps with coercion inference. Co-Authored-By: Gaëtan Gilbert <gaetan.gilbert@skyskimmer.net>

2019-08-27[declare] Move proof_entry type to declare, put interactive proof data on ↵Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
top of declare. This PR is a follow up to #10406 , moving the then introduced `proof_entry` type to `Declare`. This makes sense as `Declare` is the main consumer of the entry type, and already provides the constructors for it. This is a step towards making the entry type private, which will allow us to enforce / handle invariants on entry data better. A side-effect of this PR is that now `Proof_global` does depend on `Declare`, not the other way around, but that makes sense given that closing an interactive proof will be a client of declare. Indeed, all `Declare` / `Pfedit` / and `Proof_global` are tied into tactics due to `abstract`, at some point we may be able to unify all them into a single file in `vernac`.
2019-08-17Delay the computation of frozen evars in legacy unification.Pierre-Marie Pédrot
This source of slowness has been observed in VST, but it is probably pervasive. Most of the unification problems are not mentioning evars, it is thus useless to compute the set of frozen evars upfront. We also seize the opportunity to reverse the flag, because it is always used negatively.

2019-06-24[proof] Remove last case of optional `?poly` arguments.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias

2019-06-24[api] Remove `polymorphic` type alias, use labels instead.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias

2019-06-24[lemmas] [proof] Split proof kinds into per-layer components.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
We split `{goal,declaration,assumption}_kind` into their components. This makes sense as each part of this triple is handled by a different layer, namely: - `polymorphic` status: necessary for the lower engine layers; - `locality`: only used in `vernac` top-level constants - `kind`: merely used for cosmetic purposes [could indeed be removed / pushed upwards] We also profit from this refactoring to add some named parameters to the top-level definition API which is quite parameter-hungry. More refactoring is possible and will come in further commits, in particular this is a step towards unifying the definition / lemma save path.
2019-06-24[proof] More uniformity in proof start labels.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
2019-06-24[proof] Remove duplicated universe polymorphic from decl_kindsEmilio Jesus Gallego Arias
This information is already present on `Proof.t`, so we extract it form there. Moreover, this information is essential to the lower-level proof, as opposed to the "kind" information which is only relevant to the vernac layer; we will move it thus to its proper layer in subsequent commits.
2019-06-24[proof] Remove redundant universe declaration information.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
This was already in the base proof object however not forwarded by `close_proof`. thus it had to be stored twice. There are more cases like this, like `poly`, all are covered by subsequent commits.
2019-06-24[lemmas] Reify info for implicits, univ_decls, prepare for rec_thms.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
Key information about an interactive lemma proof was stored as a closure on an ad-hoc hook, then later made available to the hook closing actions. Instead, we put this information in the lemma state and incorporate these declarations into the normal save path. We prepare to put the information about rec_thms in the state too.
