2019-02-04Primitive integersMaxime Dénès
This work makes it possible to take advantage of a compact representation for integers in the entire system, as opposed to only in some reduction machines. It is useful for heavily computational applications, where even constructing terms is not possible without such a representation. Concretely, it replaces part of the retroknowledge machinery with a primitive construction for integers in terms, and introduces a kind of FFI which maps constants to operators (on integers). Properties of these operators are expressed as explicit axioms, whereas they were hidden in the retroknowledge-based approach. This has been presented at the Coq workshop and some Coq Working Groups, and has been used by various groups for STM trace checking, computational analysis, etc. Contributions by Guillaume Bertholon and Pierre Roux <Pierre.Roux@onera.fr> Co-authored-by: Benjamin Grégoire <Benjamin.Gregoire@inria.fr> Co-authored-by: Vincent Laporte <Vincent.Laporte@fondation-inria.fr>
2018-05-04[api] Rename `global_reference` to `GlobRef.t` to follow kernel style.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
In #6092, `global_reference` was moved to `kernel`. It makes sense to go further and use the current kernel style for names. This has a good effect on the dependency graph, as some core modules don't depend on library anymore. A question about providing equality for the GloRef module remains, as there are two different notions of equality for constants. In that sense, `KerPair` seems suspicious and at some point it should be looked at.

2017-07-20Extraction: fix bugs 5177 and 5240 (and also indirectly bug 4720)Pierre Letouzey
Avoid Anomaly (or Assert False) when a module signature contains an applied functor followed by a "with Definition" or "with Module" Also fix the dependency computation in presence of a "with Definition" Concerning 4720, the code extracted out of this bug report was suboptimal in Coq 8.4 (it was compilable, but could have probably been tweaked into a real issue producing faulty code). But the example of 4720 (and some variants of it) was broken since 8.5, for the same reasons as 5177 and 5240. And the good news is that after these repairs, the example of bug 4720 is now extracted to correct code (the "with" is preserved).

2015-12-15Extraction: replace unused variable names by _ in funs and matchs (fix #2842)Pierre Letouzey
This is done via a unique pass which seems roughly linear in practice, even on big developments like CompCert. There's a List.nth in an env at each MLrel, that could be made logarithmic if necessary via Okasaki's skew list for instance. Another approach would be to keep names (as a form of documentation), but prefix them by _ to please OCaml's warnings. For now, let's be radical and use the _ pattern.
2015-12-12Extraction: nicer implementation of ImplicitsPierre Letouzey
Instead of the original hacks (embedding implicits in string msg in MLexn !) we now use a proper construction MLdummy (Kimplicit (r,i)) to replace the use of the i-th argument of constant or constructor r when this argument has been declared as implicit. A new option Set/Unset Extraction SafeImplicits controls what happens when some implicits still occur after an extraction : fail in safe mode, or otherwise produce some code nonetheless. This code is probably buggish if the implicits are actually used to do anything relevant (match, function call, etc), but it might also be fine if the implicits are just passed along. And anyway, this unsafe mode could help figure what's going on. Note: the MLdummy now expected a kill_reason, just as Tdummy. These kill_reason are now Ktype, Kprop (formerly Kother) and Kimplicit. Some minor refactoring on the fly.

2015-01-11Extraction: discard unnecessary code inside modules without signaturesPierre Letouzey
In the case of an inner module without explicit signature, (and not used later in a functor application), we now extract only the needed items (used later or asked by the user), instead of blindly extracting all fields as earlier.

2012-03-26Module names and constant/inductive names are now in two separate namespacesletouzey
We now accept the following code: Definition E := 0. Module E. End E. Techically, we simply allow the same label to occur at most twice in a structure_body, which is a (label * structure_field_body) list). These two label occurences should not be at the same level of fields (e.g. a SFBmodule and a SFBmind are ok, but not two SFBmodule's or a SFBmodule and a SFBmodtype). Gain : a minimal amount of code change. Drawback : no more simple List.assoc or equivalent should be performed on a structure_body ... git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@15088 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7

Util only depends on Ocaml stdlib and Utf8 tables. Generic pretty printing and loc functions are in Pp. 2011-11-28Extraction: Richer patterns in matchs as proposed by P.N. Tollitteletouzey
The MLcase has notably changed: - No more case_info in it, but only a type annotation - No more "one branch for one constructor", but rather a sequence of patterns. Earlier "full" pattern correspond to pattern Pusual. Patterns Pwild and Prel allow to encode optimized matchs without hacks as earlier. Other pattern situations aren't used (yet) by extraction, but only by P.N Tollitte's code. A MLtuple constructor has been introduced. It isn't used by the extraction for the moment, but only but P.N. Tollitte's code. Many pretty-print functions in ocaml.ml and other have been reorganized git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@14734 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7
2011-08-25Extraction: allow extraction of records with anonymous fields (fix #2555)letouzey

2011-03-07A new command "Separate Extraction"letouzey
This is a mix of "Recursive Extraction" and "Extraction Library": - like "Extraction Library", the extracted code is splitted in separated files, one per coq source file. - unlike "Extraction Library", but similarly to "Recursive Extraction", not everything gets extracted, but only dependencies of some initially-given elements We prepare for a more clever dependency selection inside sub-modules. For the moment all needed sub-modules are still fully extracted (other we would need to fix signatures accordingly). git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@13888 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7

Cf. coqdev for the details of the bug report. - Protect some Hashtbl.find and other risky functions in order to avoid as much as possible to end with an irritating Anomaly : Not_found. - Re-enable in pp_ocaml_extern the case of a module-file used as a module (e.g. module A' := A for A.v) when doing modular extraction. - Rework the code that decides to "open" or not modules initially: opening A when A contains a submodule B hides the file B even when B isn't opened itself, we avoid that now. - Fix some tables (sets or maps) used by extraction for which it is critical to consider constants/inductives/global_reference _not_ modulo the equivalence of Elie, but rather via Pervasives.compare. Still to do : avoid appearance of '_a in extracted code. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@13424 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7

2010-07-15Extraction: fix a bit the extraction under modulesletouzey
Extraction under modules is highly experimental, and just work a bit. Don't expect too much of it. With this commit, I simply avoid a few "assert false" to occur when we are under modules. But things are still quite wrong, for instance with: Definition foo. Module M. Definition bar := foo. Recursive Extraction bar. Extraction of bar is ok, but foo isn't displayed, since extraction can't get it: Lib.contents_after doesn't mention it, it is probably in some frozen summary. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@13281 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7

2009-10-21This big commit addresses two problems:soubiran
1- Management of the name-space in a modular development / sharing of non-logical objects. 2- Performance of atomic module operations (adding a module to the environment, subtyping ...). 1- There are 3 module constructions which derive equalities on fields from a module to another: Let P be a module path and foo a field of P Module M := P. Module M. Include P. ... End M. Declare Module K : S with Module M := P. In this 3 cases we don't want to be bothered by the duplication of names. Of course, M.foo delta reduce to P.foo but many non-logical features of coq do not work modulo conversion (they use eq_constr or constr_pat object). To engender a transparent name-space (ie using P.foo or M.foo is the same thing) we quotient the name-space by the equivalence relation on names induced by the 3 constructions above. To implement this, the types constant and mutual_inductive are now couples of kernel_names. The first projection correspond to the name used by the user and the second projection to the canonical name, for example the internal name of M.foo is (M.foo,P.foo). So: ************************************************************************************* * Use the eq_(con,mind,constructor,gr,egr...) function and not = on names values * ************************************************************************************* Map and Set indexed on names are ordered on user name for the kernel side and on canonical name outside. Thus we have sharing of notation, hints... for free (also for a posteriori declaration of them, ex: a notation on M.foo will be avaible on P.foo). If you want to use this, use the appropriate compare function defined in name.ml or libnames.ml. 2- No more time explosion (i hoppe) when using modules i have re-implemented atomic module operations so that they are all linear in the size of the module. We also have no more unique identifier (internal module names) for modules, it is now based on a section_path like mechanism => we have less substitutions to perform at require, module closing and subtyping but we pre-compute more information hence if we instanciate several functors then we have bigger vo. Last thing, the checker will not work well on vo(s) that contains one of the 3 constructions above, i will work on it soon... git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@12406 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7
