2019-03-14Add a non-cumulative impredicative universe SProp.Gaëtan Gilbert
Note currently it's impossible to define inductives in SProp because indtypes.ml and the pretyper aren't fully plugged.
2018-12-17Make ugraph implementation abstract wrt universe specificsGaëtan Gilbert
This should give better visibility of universe specific operations vs generic graph operations.
2018-12-06Revise API for global universes.Gaëtan Gilbert
Rename Univ.Level.{Qualid -> UGlobal}, remove Univ.Level.Id. Remove the ability to split the argument of `Univ.Level.Level` into a dirpath*int pair (except by going through string hacks like detyping/pretyping(/funind) does). Id.of_string_soft to turn unnamed universes into qualid is pushed up to detyping. (TODO some followup PR clean up more) This makes it pointless to have an opaque type for ints in Univ.Level: it would only be used as argument to Univ.Level.UGlobal.make, ie ~~~ open Univ.Level let x = UGlobal.make dp (Id.make n) (* vs *) let x = UGlobal.make dp n ~~~ Remaining places which create levels from ints are various hacks (eg the dummy in inductive.ml, the Type.n universes in ugraph sort_universes) and univgen. UnivGen does have an opaque type for ints used as univ ids since they get manipulated by the stm. NB: build breaks due to ocamldep issue if UGlobal is named Global instead.
2018-12-06Fix race condition triggered by fresh universe generationMaxime Dénès
Remote counters were trying to build universe levels (as opposed to simple integers), but did not have access to the right dirpath at construction time. We fix it by constructing the level only at use time, and we introduce some abstractions for qualified and unqualified level names.
2018-11-27Fix #8364: making univ algebraic when already equal to another.Gaëtan Gilbert
When making a universe a variable we iterate through the universes we're equal to and if we find one we update the substitution accordingly. NB: The bug called make_flexible_variable on Top.15 and ~~~ {Top.15 Top.14} |= Top.11 < Top.6 Top.14 < Top.5 Top.11 = Top.15 ALGEBRAIC UNIVERSES:{Top.17 Top.16} UNDEFINED UNIVERSES:Top.17 := Top.14+1 Top.16 := Top.14+1 WEAK CONSTRAINTS: ~~~ so now we would add [Top.15 := Top.11].
2018-11-23Local universes for opaque polymorphic constants.Gaëtan Gilbert
2018-11-16Use universe names when printing to dot.Gaëtan Gilbert
2018-11-16Make UGraph printing independent of hash orderGaëtan Gilbert
2018-09-24[kernel] Compile with almost all warnings enabled.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
This is a partial resurrection of #6423 but only for the kernel. IMHO, we pay a bit of price for this but it is a good safety measure. Only warning "4: fragile pattern matching" and "44: open hides a type" are disabled. We would like to enable 44 for sure once we do some alias cleanup.
2018-07-25kernel: missing check that all universes are declared.Matthieu Sozeau
Keep the universe_levels_of_constr function inside typeops, not exported.
2018-06-22Define and use UGraph.enforce_leq_alg for subtyping inferenceGaëtan Gilbert
Not sure if worth using in other places.
2018-05-30Fix restrict_universe_contextGaëtan Gilbert
2018-04-28Merge PR #6892: Cleanup implementation of normalize_context_set a bitPierre-Marie Pédrot
2018-04-26Always print explanation for univ inconsistency, rm Flags.univ_printGaëtan Gilbert
This removes the Flags.univ_print in the kernel, making it possible to put the univ printing flag ownership back in Detyping. The lazyness is because getting an explanation may be costly and we may discard it without printing. See benches - with lazy https://ci.inria.fr/coq/view/benchmarking/job/benchmark-part-of-the-branch/406/console - without lazy https://ci.inria.fr/coq/view/benchmarking/job/benchmark-part-of-the-branch/405/console Notably without lazy mathcomp odd_order is +1.26% with some lines showing significant changes, eg PFsection11 line 874 goes from 11.76s to 13.23s (+12%). (with lazy the same development has -1% overall and the same line goes from 11.76s to 11.23s (-4%) which may be within noise range)
2018-04-13universe normalisation: put equivalence class partition in UGraphGaëtan Gilbert
ie don't go through having Eq constraints but directly to the unionfind.

2017-12-09[lib] Rename Profile to CProfileEmilio Jesus Gallego Arias
New module introduced in OCaml 4.05 I think, can create problems when linking with the OCaml toplevel for `Drop`.
2017-11-06[api] Move structures deprecated in the API to the core.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
We do up to `Term` which is the main bulk of the changes.
2017-07-11Cleaning up the implementation of module subtyping in the kernel.Pierre-Marie Pédrot
We export a function in UGraph to check that a polymorphic instance is a subtype of another, instead of rolling up our own in module code. We also add a few tests for module subtyping in presence of polymorphic constants.
2017-06-02Drop '.' from CErrors.anomaly, insert it in argsJason Gross
As per https://github.com/coq/coq/pull/716#issuecomment-305140839 Partially using ```bash git grep --name-only 'anomaly\s*\(~label:"[^"]*"\s*\)\?\(Pp.\)\?(\(\(Pp.\)\?str\)\?\s*".*[^\.!]")' | xargs sed s'/\(anomaly\s*\(~label:"[^"]*"\s*\)\?\(Pp.\)\?(\(\(Pp.\)\?str\)\?\s*".*\s*[^\.! ]\)\s*")/\1.")/g' -i ``` and ```bash git grep --name-only ' !"' | xargs sed s'/ !"/!"/g' -i ``` The rest were manually edited by looking at the results of ```bash git grep anomaly | grep '\.ml' | grep -v 'anomaly\s*\(~label:"[^"]*"\s*\)\?\(Pp\.\)\?(\(\(Pp.\)\?str\)\?\s*".*\(\.\|!\)")' | grep 'anomaly\($\|[^_]\)' | less ```
2017-04-18Replacing costly merges in UGraph.Pierre-Marie Pédrot
2016-11-30Fix UGraph.check_eq!Matthieu Sozeau
Universes are kept in normal form w.r.t. equality but not the <= relation, so the previous check worked almost always but was actually too strict! In cases like (max(Set,u) = u) when u is declared >= Set it was failing to find an equality. Applying the KISS principle: u = v <-> u <= v /\ v <= u. Fix invariant breakage that triggered the discovery of the check_eq bug as well. No algebraic universes should appear in a term position (on the left of a colon in a typing judgment), this was not the case when an algebraic universe instantiated an evar that appeared in the term. We force their universe variable status to change in refresh_universes to avoid this. Fix ind sort inference: Use syntactic universe equality for inductive sort inference instead of check_leq (which now correctly takes constraints into account) and simplify code
2016-07-03errors.ml renamed into cErrors.ml (avoid clash with an OCaml compiler-lib ↵Pierre Letouzey
module) For the moment, there is an Error module in compilers-lib/ocamlbytecomp.cm(x)a
