2020-03-18Update headers in the whole code base.Théo Zimmermann
Add headers to a few files which were missing them.
2020-02-11Fixing some residual bugs of PR #10202 (manual implicit args in subterms).Hugo Herbelin
- Implicit arguments in the return clause and in the branches of a match were not checked. - Implicit arguments in each declaration of intern_context were not restarted. - Additionally, in intern_context, we take into account ids from the env on top of which intern_context is called. - A better approximation of the check for manual implicit in notations improved (though not fully correct because the exact context of interpretation of a binder in a notation with recursive binders is not known). We also rename impl_binder_index into binder_block_names in anticipation of checking redundancies also for non-implicit arguments.
2019-11-21[coq] Untabify the whole ML codebase.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
We also remove trailing whitespace. Script used: ```bash for i in `find . -name '*.ml' -or -name '*.mli' -or -name '*.mlg'`; do expand -i "$i" | sponge "$i"; sed -e's/[[:space:]]*$//' -i.bak "$i"; done ```

2019-06-11Fix #10225 (Instance := {} accepts duplicate fields)Gaëtan Gilbert
This replaces the mismatched context error, which occurred when Instance := {} was used with strictly more fields than declared. Since we later check that field names match those declared for the instance, now that we reject duplicates we know that there are no extra fields.
2019-04-05[api] [proofs] Remove dependency of proofs on interp.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
We perform some cleanup and remove dependency of `proofs/` on `interp/`, which seems logical. In fact, `interp` + `parsing` are quite self-contained, so if there is interest we could also make tactics to depend directly on proofs.
2019-02-05Make Program a regular attributeMaxime Dénès
We remove all calls to `Flags.is_program_mode` except one (to compute the default value of the attribute). Everything else is passed explicitely, and we remove the special logic in the interpretation loop to set/unset the flag. This is especially important since the value of the flag has an impact on proof modes, so on the separation of parsing and execution phases.
2018-12-09[doc] Enable Warning 50 [incorrect doc comment] and fix comments.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
This is a pre-requisite to use automated formatting tools such as `ocamlformat`, also, there were quite a few places where the comments had basically no effect, thus it was confusing for the developer. p.s: Reading some comments was a lot of fun :)
2018-11-28[options] New helper for creation of boolean options plus reference.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
This makes setting the option outside of the synchronized summary impossible.
2018-10-31Fixes rest of #3468 (tactic-in-term was not respecting scopes).Hugo Herbelin
We do it by passing interning env to ltac interning. Collecting scopes was already done by side-effect internally to Constrintern. We expose the side-effect to ltac.
2018-06-18Remove reference name type.Maxime Dénès
reference was defined as Ident or Qualid, but the qualid type already permits empty paths. So we had effectively two representations for unqualified names, that were not seen as equal by eq_reference. We remove the reference type and replace its uses by qualid.

2018-05-04[api] Rename `global_reference` to `GlobRef.t` to follow kernel style.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
In #6092, `global_reference` was moved to `kernel`. It makes sense to go further and use the current kernel style for names. This has a good effect on the dependency graph, as some core modules don't depend on library anymore. A question about providing equality for the GloRef module remains, as there are two different notions of equality for constants. In that sense, `KerPair` seems suspicious and at some point it should be looked at.

2018-02-28[econstr] Continue consolidation of EConstr API under `interp`.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
This commit was motivated by true spurious conversions arising in my `to_constr` debug branch. The changes here need careful review as the tradeoffs are subtle and still a lot of clean up remains to be done in `vernac/*`. We have opted for penalize [minimally] the few users coming from true `Constr`-land, but I am sure we can tweak code in a much better way. In particular, it is not clear if internalization should take an `evar_map` even in the cases where it is not triggered, see the changes under `plugins` for a good example. Also, the new return type of `Pretyping.understand` should undergo careful review. We don't touch `Impargs` as it is not clear how to proceed, however, the current type of `compute_implicits_gen` looks very suspicious as it is called often with free evars. Some TODOs are: - impargs was calling whd_all, the Econstr equivalent can be either + Reductionops.whd_all [which does refolding and no sharing] + Reductionops.clos_whd_flags with all as a flag.
2018-02-27Update headers following #6543.Théo Zimmermann
2018-02-22[ast] Improve precision of Ast location recognition in serialization.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
We follow the suggestions in #402 and turn uses of `Loc.located` in `vernac` into `CAst.t`. The impact should be low as this change mostly affects top-level vernaculars. With this change, we are even closer to automatically map a text document to its AST in a programmatic way.
2018-02-20Adding support for parsing subterms of a notation as "pattern".Hugo Herbelin
This allows in particular to define notations with 'pat style binders. E.g.: A non-trivial change in this commit is storing binders and patterns separately from terms. This is not strictly necessary but has some advantages. However, it is relatively common to have binders also used as terms, or binders parsed as terms. Thus, it is already relatively common to embed binders into terms (see e.g. notation for ETA in output test Notations3.v) or to coerce terms to idents (see e.g. the notation for {x|P} where x is parsed as a constr). So, it is as simple to always store idents (and eventually patterns) as terms.
2018-02-20More precise explanation when a notation is not reversible for printing.Hugo Herbelin
2017-12-15[econstr] Switch constrintern API to non-imperative style.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
We remove a lot of uses of `evar_map` ref in `vernac`, cleanup step desirable to progress with EConstr there.
2017-12-13[econstr] Cleanup in `vernac/classes.ml`.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
We fix quite a few types, and perform some cleanup wrt to the evar_map, in particular we prefer to thread it now as otherwise it may become trickier to check when we are using the correct one. Thanks to @SkySkimmer for lots of comments and bug-finding.
2017-11-06[api] Move structures deprecated in the API to the core.Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias
We do up to `Term` which is the main bulk of the changes.
2017-10-05Fixing #5762 (supporting imp. args. in "where" clause of an inductive def.).Hugo Herbelin
This allows e.g. the following to work: Reserved Notation "* a" (at level 70). Inductive P {n : nat} : nat -> Prop := c m : *m where "* m" := (P m). We seize this opportunity to make main calls to Metasyntax to depend on an arbitrary env rather than on Global.env. Incidentally, this fixes a little coqdoc bug in classifying the inductive type referred to in the "where" clause.

This highlights that this is a binary mode changing the interpretation of "?x" rather than additionally allowing patvar.
2017-05-31More precise on preventing clash between bound vars name and hidden impargs.Hugo Herbelin
We want to avoid capture in "Inductive I {A} := C : forall A, I". But in "Record I {A} := { C : forall A, A }.", non recursivity ensures that no clash will occur. This fixes previous commit, with which it could possibly be merged.
2017-05-31Fixing a failure to interpret some local implicit arguments in Inductive.Hugo Herbelin
For instance, the following was failing to use the implicitness of n: Inductive A (P:forall m {n}, n=m -> Prop) := C : P 0 eq_refl -> A P.

2017-03-24Cleaning phase around local binder at glob level:Hugo Herbelin
Aligned the type binder_data to the naming scheme used in (raw) local_binder and Rel.Declaration.t. Made some code factorization. Still to do: align type Glob_term.glob_binder to the Assum/Def format too. Note: this includes fix of anomaly with 'pat in cofix (dec77f282).
2017-02-14Definining EConstr-based contexts.Pierre-Marie Pédrot
This removes quite a few unsafe casts. Unluckily, I had to reintroduce the old non-module based names for these data structures, because I could not reproduce easily the same hierarchy in EConstr.

2016-10-04Quick fix to #4595 (making notations containing "ltac:" unused for printing).Hugo Herbelin
Also getting rid of a global side-effect.
2016-02-28Printing notations: Cleaning in anticipation of fixing #4592.Hugo Herbelin
- Making a clear distinction between expressions of the notation which are associated to binding variables only (as in `Notation "'lam' x , P" := (fun x => P)" or `Notation "'exists2' x : t , p & q" := (ex2 (fun x:t => p) (fun x:t => q))') and those which are associated to at list one subterm (e.g. `Notation "x .+1" := (S x)' but also "Notation "{# x | P }" := (ex2 _ (fun y => x = F y) (fun x => P))' as in #4592). The former have type NtnTypeOnlyBinder. - Thus avoiding in particular encoding too early Anonymous as GHole and "Name id" as "GVar id". There is a non-trivial alpha-conversion work to do to get #4592 working. See comments in Notation_ops.add_env.

2016-01-11CLEANUP: kernel/context.ml{,i}Matej Kosik
The structure of the Context module was refined in such a way that: - Types and functions related to rel-context declarations were put into the Context.Rel.Declaration module. - Types and functions related to rel-context were put into the Context.Rel module. - Types and functions related to named-context declarations were put into the Context.Named.Declaration module. - Types and functions related to named-context were put into the Context.Named module. - Types and functions related to named-list-context declarations were put into Context.NamedList.Declaration module. - Types and functions related to named-list-context were put into Context.NamedList module. Some missing comments were added to the *.mli file. The output of ocamldoc was checked whether it looks in a reasonable way. "TODO: cleanup" was removed The order in which are exported functions listed in the *.mli file was changed. (as in a mature modules, this order usually is not random) The order of exported functions in Context.{Rel,Named} modules is now consistent. (as there is no special reason why that order should be different) The order in which are functions defined in the *.ml file is the same as the order in which they are listed in the *.mli file. (as there is no special reason to define them in a different order) The name of the original fold_{rel,named}_context{,_reverse} functions was changed to better indicate what those functions do. (Now they are called Context.{Rel,Named}.fold_{inside,outside}) The original comments originally attached to the fold_{rel,named}_context{,_reverse} did not full make sense so they were updated. Thrown exceptions are now documented. Naming of formal parameters was made more consistent across different functions. Comments of similar functions in different modules are now consistent. Comments from *.mli files were copied to *.ml file. (We need that information in *.mli files because that is were ocamldoc needs it. It is nice to have it also in *.ml files because when we are using Merlin and jump to the definion of the function, we can see the comments also there and do not need to open a different file if we want to see it.) When we invoke ocamldoc, we instruct it to generate UTF-8 HTML instead of (default) ISO-8859-1. (UTF-8 characters are used in our ocamldoc markup) "open Context" was removed from all *.mli and *.ml files. (Originally, it was OK to do that. Now it is not.) An entry to dev/doc/changes.txt file was added that describes how the names of types and functions have changed.
